Updating to 1.1.0
Download
First you have to download Open Blog 1.1.0.
Open Blog 1.1.0 can be found on this address.
Updating part 1: Saving your old config files
Before you can start the update process you need to save your old config.php and database.php file which can be found in /application/config/ folder.
You can save them on your local hard drive, server or any other place, it doesn't matter as long as you save it.
Updating part 2: Deleting the old files
When you successfully saved your old config files (config.php and database.php), you need to delete your Open Blog 1.0.0 root folder (this is the folder which stores application and system folder).
Caution: If you made any modifications to existing templates or languages or use custom ones, remember to backup them up first, or they will be lost!
Updating part 3: Uploading files to your server
When Open Blog 1.0.0 folder has been deleted you need to unpack Open Blog 1.1.0 files which you have downloaded from the link on the top of this page.
When you unpack the files, you need to upload them to your web server (you can use FileZilla or any other client of your choice).
Remember to upload them to the same folder where Open Blog 1.0.0 was installed, else you will need to manually edit your blog config file (config.php) and change the blog root URL.
Updating part 4: Uploading your old config files
Now is the time when you need to upload your previously saved files (config.php and database.php) to the /application/config/ folder.
If you skip this step and don't upload these files, Open Blog update script won't be able to detect your old installation and you won't be able to upgrade to 1.1.0.
Updating part 5: Running the updater
After the old config files have been successfully uploaded to your server, you need to run the Open Blog automatic PHP updater, which will do all the hard work for you.
- Visit the website where you uploaded the files to - for example http://www.yoursite.com/blog/install/update.php
- You should see a page like this:

If you get "No Open Blog installation detected" page, this means you didn't save and upload your old config files, Open Blog update script couldn't detect your old installation database tables or something went wrong.
If you are sure you did everything correctly and this wasn't supposed to happen, don't wait and contact us and together we will try to solve your problem. - Press the "Start update ››" button.

- Now you need to change the permissions for the folder config/ and file config.php so everyone can write to it (CHMOD 777).
After you have changed the permissions, click the "Refresh" button on the right and the yellow alert sign should change to the green tick:
- Click the "Step 2 ››" button on the right and if everything went fine your old installation should sucessfully be updated and you should see a page like this:

Updating part 6: Deleting the install folder
The only thing left to do is to delete the install/ folder.
When you delete it, go to your blog home page and you should see your blog.
Congratulations, your blog has been successfully updated!
Now you can login with your old username and password and start enjoying the new features of Open Blog 1.1.0.
